Many people were in a situation where they needed to drive somewhere but the car didn’t want to start. Usually, for a weak battery, the symptoms are, dimming light and weak or no crank when turning the car key.

Design and Features
On many occasions, my vehicle had experienced a depleted battery and I have always wanted to get myself a jump starter so I could forget about this low battery problem, although it’s not something that happens so often.
The Autowit Supercap 2 Jump-Starter has one big difference compared to the traditional jump starters. The lake of batteries and the use of super-capacitor technology.
That’s been said, Supercap 2 never requires regular charging and only requires a quick charge from your weak battery to get your car started.
Worst case scenario, when your vehicle battery is completely exhausted, you have 2 other options available:
1)You can still charge the jump starter using another vehicle
2)The use a power bank to power supply the Supercap 2( This option will take some time).
In general, a lithium-ion battery jump starters has a lifespan of 2 to 4 years and undergo chemical reactions. However, SuperCap 2 has a life of up to 10 years( claimed by Autowit) and can withstand more than 100,000 times frequently repeated use in its lifetime.
Autowit did a great job adding a quality made carrying case, well done.
In terms of size, it’s bigger than most jumpstarters but due to the lack of batteries, it’s much lighter.
On the right side, covered by a silicone panel located all of the available connections
On the right side, we have three charging options: The most useable charging option will be, directly from a car battery using the alligator cable, in case of a totally drained battery you may use the 12-volt cigarette lighter adapter, or charging from any USB power source.
At the top we have a small display that showcases the device status.
Another major advantage of Autowit’s technology is the speed of charging. From zero to 100% capacity on a 2.1Amp USB power supply (the same one I use to charge my phone) my wait was about ten minutes. For comparison, my battery-based jump starter took about 6 hours.
Testing The Autowit Supercap 2 Jump-Starter
To find out how well Supercap 2 works I have pick 2 cars with different battery levels. The first car was a 307 2004 Peugeot that had a mid-level battery charge that doesn’t start the car but had some power when you turn on the switch key. The second car was a 2004 Nissan 350Z with very low battery power.
To understand how the Autowit Supercap 2 Jump Starter works, I went to the user manual that was provided, and let me tell you, using the Autowit Supercap 2 is very easy.
The first thing we need to do it to connect the alligator clips to the battery terminals red wire goes to the + positive and the black to the – negative.
Afterward, press the only available button that is located on the right side, under the rubber that protects all the ports.
After pressing the button, you will hear a buzz that indicated the charging process is started. The same buzz will be heard when the charging is complete.
After the first buzz, thanks to the small LCD screen we are able to see the battery voltage and the charging percentage.
When the numbers reach 100%, a buzz will be heard and we are ready to jump-start our vehicle.
To start the jump-starting process, press the button once more, a 10-second countdown will begin, and the only thing you need to do is to hop in your vehicle and wait for a beep from the Supercap 2 and turn the key to start the engine. Simple as that, your car is ready.
Both the Peugeot and the Nissan started as if the battery was fully charged.
I was shocked and surprised how smooth everything went, no weak cranking or any hesitation, everything worked perfectly.
My friend who owns a car shop was with me when I was testing the SuperCap 2 and he was surprised on how well everything worked. It’s a product that any car enthusiast-would benefit from.
Autowit claims, no matter what climate you’re in, SuperCap 2 can withstand extreme temperature conditions (-40℃/40℉) and harsh environments. Of course, its something I will have to test this winter.
