LCD tablets are widely used literally everywhere, for reading or writing but what about sketching and note-taking or drawing? In the past few years, another type of “LCD tablet” has emerged – a very simple writing and drawing device that isn’t actually a digital tablet.
Its the first time I have used one of those writing tablets and I was quite curious for some time, so I reached out to Newer and they were happy to provide me with this sample. My girlfriend loves that kind of things after I’m done reviewing it, I plan to give it to her.

Design and Features
It is kind of weird for me to call it e an “LCD tablet” is a little misleading. When we hear “LCD tablet,” we think of digital devices like the Samsung tab that have processors, camera, memory, and so on. But this device uses a different kind of LCD and is a different kind of tablet.
The LCD is a simple liquid crystal surface that responds to pressure, if you press harder you will get thicker lines. Everything you will write will stay until you erase everything using the dedicated keys, which runs electrical current from a button battery through the panel to blank.
The writing tablet was build using quality ABS materials that are meant to last, the color I have received is yellow and it looks very well.
Don’t try to connect it to a computer because you simply can’t, its not your typical tablet. You cant save anything, there’s no digital storage. If you should want to save something, you’ll need to take a picture of it before you erase it.
The Newyes tablet comes with a stylus, with a holder at the upper part where it can snap into place.
On the backside, you have the battery location( it should last for a long time).
On the bottom, you will find the lock/unlock keys.
You don’t have to press very hard to make a noticeable line. If you press hard, you get a bolder line. I didn’t test how much pressure it can hold but if you use it as you would do with a note, you will be fine.
One of the things I would like to see improved is the possibility to erase only part of the screen or the last thing you wrote. Right now, when you press the erases button everything will get erased.
It would be great for kids especially the ones who like drawing and it can be used also wherever you would use a chalkboard or whiteboard of similar size. It’s light and sturdy—as simple as it is, there’s not much on it to break.
