Design and Features
The Divoom Pixoo has kept a simple style design and hardly differs from a conventional picture frame. The housing is square-shaped, measures 20 x 20 centimeters and is made of black plastic.
But don’t let the simple design fool you, the Divoom Pixoo has much more to offer. It has a 16×16 Programmable LED pixel that can display 16 million colors providing more than enough creative freedom.
The screen brightness can be adjusted using the app and its equivalent luminosity of a 5 watts LED light bulb. That’s pretty bright and everything displayed can be easily seen.
On the back of the device, we have a micro USB port and the base for setting up the Divoom Pixoo frame. Let’s not forget the usual wall brackets that normal photo frames have, the Divoom Pixoo is no different and it has an upper area to attach the frame to the wall. The back of the device is decorated with smaller and smaller squares.
The Divoom Pixoo is ready for use within a few minutes by taking the stand out of the holder on the back and connecting it to the frame. The frame is very stable on flat surfaces and does not wobble. One thing I have to mention, connecting the USB cable is not so comfortable because of the USB port location (its a bit narrow).
The Divoom Pixoo has a 2500 mAh battery that can last for around 8 hours and depends on the type of use.
The Divoom Pixoo Art Frame can be connected via Bluetooth to a smartphone/tablet and controlled using the app. The smartphone app is available for Android and iOS devices. I would recommend using the app, It gives us much more interesting functions.
The Divoom Pixoo can also be used without the free app, but as I said before, you won’t able to enjoy most functions as they controlled via App. The only thing you can do without the app, you can only switch between different patterns by pressing the button on the lower frame.
Using the Divoom Smart App
Using the dedicated app will give you very extensive functions.
At first, I was overwhelmed by the number of options and navigating through the app was difficult. After a while, navigation was easy and you can quickly find the settings you want. The app offers many interesting functions as well as many designs and animations that Divoom Pixoo users made and shared.
With a built-in editor, it is also possible to create your own designs and animations and also share them with the community.
The Divoom Pixoo has other functions such as alarm clock, stopwatch, organizer, calendar, Weather, Temperature and a few games are also available( There are many other options).

My Opinion
The Divoom Pixoo is a very unique and interesting gadget with many useful functions. At first, using the app might be a little frustrating as it takes some time to get used to it. But thanks to the active community, you are able to find numerous designs and animations to choose from. If you are looking to create your own designs you can let your creativity run free and create anything you like and of course, share your work with the Divoom community. The Divoom Pixoo is definitely a unique product that will fit most home designs. If you are looking for something unique and interesting, Divoom Pixoo is just that.
