Design and Features

The Tronsmart Element Force is quite small, measuring 8 x 3.1 x 2.5 inches (width x height x depth) and weighing a mere 27.5 ounces (1.7 pounds). It carries an IPX7 water-resistance rating, which means you don’t need to worry about getting it wet (at a depth of less than a meter and for no more than 30 minutes).

It comes with only one color, black, and silicon covered exterior and ABS plastic parts. When holding it, it feels steady and you won’t be afraid of dropping it. Tronsmart says it also drops & dust resistant so your cover in all the aspects.

Tronsmart Element maximum power output is 40 watts, thanks to a technology called SoundPulse. ” SoundPulse™ technology delivers a 40W max output making the bass deeper, and vocals more define”.

The Element Force offers three different EQ presets. Extra Bass, 3D Stereo is said to “broaden the sound range and strengthen the stereo sound effect.” According to Tronsmart, “counteracts harmonic distortion and eliminates noise.” And the last one is the default, Extra Bass.

You can connect two Force speakers for a room-filling stereo sound to get a live music experience and that’s a really cool feature, a feature that Tronsmart calls True Wireless Stereo (TWS).

On the back there are three ports — USB-C, microSD / TF card reader, and 3.5mm aux in —They are protected by a deep-seated silicone flap. Using the NFC pairing you don’t have to wait around for minutes on end for my phone to find the Tronsmart in a room full of Bluetooth names.

Your probability going to use the Bluetooth audio input – in this case, Bluetooth 4.2 with EDR (Enhanced Data Rate). Alternatively, you can connect a 3.5mm analog-audio cable to the Aux input if there’s no Bluetooth source around.

Along with the 3.5mm aux input, the Element Force provides a USB-C port for charging the batteries and a Micro SD/TF memory-card slot, which lets you play directly from a Micro SD memory card.

The force has two built-in batteries, each at 3,300mAh, which takes about three hours to fully charge. After that, they provide up to 15 hours of playtime at medium volume.

The controls are located on the top, they are physical buttons beneath a flexible silicone covering that keeps water out. They include power on/off, input selection/Bluetooth disconnect/system reset, volume down/skip to previous track, play/pause/answer phone/hang-up phone/redial last number, volume up/skip to next track, and EQ preset selection.

Unfortunately, the buttons are hardly visible, being black on black. You will need to remember their location or find them by feel, This is something Transmart needs to improve but I’d much prefer to be able to easily see them as well.

Also, there are three tiny LED indicators on the top: Bluetooth status, charging status, and EQ status and the last one indicates which EQ preset is selected.

Performance

Pairing the Tronsmart Element Force to my Lenovo p2 was fast and went without a hitch. I listened to all types of music and I was quite happy with all of them. As I mentioned before. its the first time I use Bluetooth speakers and I don’t have any other speakers to compare them with.

Easy to control, easy to pair, and easy to charge

I have tried all kinds of volumes/songs and I was amazed how loud they can play (using max volume). This speaker is easy to control, easy to pair, and easy to charge since I just plug it into the same charger as my Macbook pro and I’m good to go.

My Opinion

One of my new favorite toys
One of my new favorite toys

I have mentioned before its the first time I own and use a Bluetooth speaker and Frankly, I’m super happy with how well the Tronsmart Element Force performs. Its low cost, around 70$, what a bargain! If you check prices online and compare quality and prices, the Element is on top of the line.

I really like its water resistance, you can take it to the pool or the beach and not worry about getting it wet. I’m not saying it’s perfect and I would definitely do something with the controls as they are very difficult to see. But at this price, I can easily overlook any shortcomings and simply use it and enjoy the music.
