Rock Jaw T5 Ultra Connect Earphones Review

I love the wireless technology where you don’t need to be connected with a wire to a device at all times.
Rock Jaw Audio was founded back in 2012 and they are based in the UK. Their aim is to design and engineer products that exceed expectations and that’s exactly what they did with the T5 Ultra Connect.

What’s in the Box?

Most of us know intuitively, that first impression is important. We don’t like to think that we judge a book by its cover or a person by what they are wearing or how they appear, but the reality is that we often do.
When I opened the box I was really surprised in a good way, the way the product was presented was just perfect. The first thing you notice when opening the box is a card with information about Rock Jaw.

Personally I think its a great idea and its the first time I see a company that tries to tell you their story.

  • Rock Jaw T5 Ultra Connect Earphone
  • USB charging cable
  • 2 X Memory foam tips
  • 3 X Rubber tips ( different sizes )
  • 3 X Tuning filters
  • User Manual
  • Information car
  • Earphone bag

Design, Features, and Performance

The first thing you notice is the slick design. The earphones are aircraft grade aluminum-cased and have a gunmetal look and a sleek banded style. Thanks to the magnets on the rear you are able to ‘snap’ together around your neck when you’re not listening. You can really feel how well they are made, high-quality rubber.

They use the very latest Bluetooth 5.0. So you’ll experience better transmission distances, data throughput, and robustness of the signal.
The T5 Ultra Connect are supplied with a choice of three tuning filters to suit a user’s listening preferences.

  • Silver for rock, Hip-pop, R&B, and electronic music.
  • Gold offers a well-balanced, natural sound signature, suitable for all music genres.
  • Black for enhanced audio in genres including classical, acoustic and jazz.

The T5 Ultra Connect is powered by a lithium-ion battery, which can deliver around 11 hours of continuous playing time before they need recharging. That’s more than enough and you don’t need to worry much about ending up without a charge.

I have to point out that these aren’t true wireless earphones as both of the earpieces are connected by a short length of wire that includes a remote control with three buttons for adjusting volume, skipping tracks, taking phone calls and battery chamber.

Its the first time I have used memory foam tips and I absolutely love them. These oversize ear tips can be squished to fit right into your ear canal, and then the tips expand to the shape of the ear canal and give you boost in the sound as you are more isolated from surrounding sounds.
If by any means you don’t like those foam tips, Rockjaw provided 3 silicone tips for you to use and let’s not forget the 2 extra foam tips.

The foam ear tips create a perfect seal to block outside noise and let you enjoy your favorite music. Another useful feature is the built-in universal microphone that provides an easy solution to taking calls when needed by the touch of a button, I have been testing it quite a lot and the sound of the microphone is clear and loud enough.

And let’s not forget that the T5 Ultra Connect is rated at IPX5 for water resistance which means its sweat-resistant and will be perfect gym buddy or when your jogging in the rain.

How do you Control Everything?

The Earphones are controlled by 3 buttons and it’s relatively simple to operate. To power, the headset, press the center button for 2-3 seconds.
In order to pair your BT T5 Ultra with your smartphone or other devices, hold the center button for 5-6 seconds and wait until you see blue and red blinking LED light.

If you looking to pair to other smartphones or devices you need to do the same thing but hold the center button for 3-4 seconds.
Pairing the Earphones with my Lenovo P2 was quick and easy. Just able Bluetooth function on your device and hold the center button for 3-4 seconds and your good to go.

To play/pause the audio, press the center button once. To resume, press it once again
To skip tracks press and hold the volume up button for 2 seconds to skip forward. same goes for skipping backward, use the volume down button for 2 seconds.
Taking calls, when there is an incoming call the headset will pause automatically. To answer you will need to press the center button , to hang up press it again.
To redial, simply double press the center button.
