This microphone features a hot-shoe mount; a rubber shock mount between the hot-shoe and the mic; a foam wind noise reducer; a low-cut switch; and a +10db boost. It runs on a single AA battery that lasts for days! It has no trouble picking up my voice from as far as 5-6 meters away and it is very directional. Best of all, even though it’s a mono microphone, it provides a balanced stereo input to my camera

My Opinion

I was looking for a budget Microphone for my Nikkon d5100 and after reading a lot of reviews and comparing Takstar SGC-598 to other microphones I have no doubt that I made the right choice in picking the
Takstar SGC-598 microphone. It does have its disadvantages like static noises but the price makes it a winner in his category.
I’m happy that I bought this mic and you should decide yourself if its the right pick but I definitely recommend it if you’re on a tight budget and you’re looking for a good quality Microphone.
