Soundcore Spirit Dot 2 Review

A while back, earbuds were one of those ideas that sounds like a dream: A little tiny headphone that pops up into each ear and lets you listen to music or take calls untethered from everything.

Nowadays, times have changed and there are a lot of different types of earbuds we can pick from in a wide range of styles and prices.
Today I’m going to review the Soundcore Spirit Dot 2 by Anker, very interesting earbuds that many of you will probably like.

What’s in the Box?

If we are talking about first impressions, Anker did a good job, good looking detailed box and accessories.

Soundcore Spirit Dot 2
  • Spirit Dot 2 True Wireless Earbuds
  • Charging Case
  • XS/S/M/L/XL EarTips
  • S/M/L AirWings
  • USB-C Cable
  • User Manual

Design and Features

The first thing we notice is the interesting lid this case has, that you need to slide forwards to open. On the side of the case, we have three bright LED-lights that indicate the battery status of the case.

On the back, we have a USB-C charging port (covered by a lid, well-done Anker) that can recharge your earbuds nearly three times before needing a recharge itself.

The Spirit Dot 2 is very comfortable to wear and I managed to do so for more than an hour without any issues. Soundcore says that the Spirit Dot 2 true wireless earbuds are 20% slimmer to ensure they fit comfortably and discreetly in your ears. I must admit, the size and profile of these earbuds are impressive.

Slide the case open, and you can see the earbuds lying in deep.

The Spirit Dot 2 true wireless earbuds utilize an LDS antenna and Bluetooth 5 that gives us a very strong connection. Each earbud has individual transmitters, and the result we get a very stable pairing. Compared to many other earbuds, the Spirit Dot 2 has no app you can control any setting.

Some reviews mention the size of the earbuds as a disadvantage but in my case, I’m ok with the size. Yes, they could have made it smaller because it seems to be a lot of leftover space but overall it looks and feels pretty good.

The Spirit Dot 2 true wireless earbuds come with five sizes of ear tips and three sizes of the AirWings to give you the freedom to find a combination that fits you nicely. A USB-C cable is also provided to charge the charging case.

The built-in touch controls on Spirit Dot 2 work well for answering calls or playing and pausing music. You can also long-press both earbuds at the same time to activate a digital voice assistant.

If your planning to use the microphone, I don’t want to disappoint you but the quality is disappointing. I used the Spirit Dot 2 for WhatsApp, skype calls with my friends and colleagues and the quality is worse compared to other microphones I have used.

The Spirit Dot 2 earbuds are very comfortable and fit very well.
Each earbud weighs six grams and that’s one of the reasons they are comfortable. The specially developed hollow-chamber wings made to relieve the auditory canal and thanks to their adaptability, provide stability suitable for sports use.

Soundcore Spirit Dot 2 Device Control

The Soundcore Spirit Dot 2 offers a stable range of about 10 meters and get into pairing mode upon removal from the case. Both headphones are also available individually in single mode.

There’s no way to change the volume on the earpieces, which is quite disappointing, especially when your phone may often be out of reach

Sound Quality

The Spirit Dot 2 earbuds are advertised as having strong basses. They are using a BassUp technology, which is designed to analyze the sound profile in real-time and automatically boost low frequencies. In reality, they provide a powerful, full bass that provides plenty of listening pleasure.
Most types of music sound incredibly engaging ( Dance, techno, pop, and hip-hop).

When I’m listing to music or watching movies or videos would want to have a good sound experience and let me tell you, the Spirit Dot 2 sound very well. I’m saying it as a regular user that doesn’t have any specific technical experience.

Battery life

The Soundcore Spirit Dot 2 offers a quite standard 5.5 hours of playtime per charge. You can get up to 16 hours total with the extra charges using the case. To be honest, it is quite enough to get you through a couple of days before you have to charge the spirit dot 2 case but compared to others, its a relatively low playtime. Bear in mind, playtime times will vary from one person to another due to different volumes everyone uses.

My Opinion

The Anker Soundcore Spirit Dot 2 earbuds are the great Bluetooth earbuds because they sound great, feel comfortable, and offer the convenience of being completely cable-free. I really love the light, compact design, and Ithe PX7 rating and gives peace of mind when it comes to water damage.
The downsides of the Spirit Dot 2 might be the average battery life and the poor microphone quality,.

I love the Anker Soundcore Spirit Dot 2 because they deliver a great combination of performance and features for the money—and they’re delightful to use.
